Asylum seekers are fleeing conscious-shocking violence, conflict, and political upheaval. Once asylum seekers begin the court process, also known as “Removal Proceedings,” they are entitled to an attorney, but at no cost to the government. This means individuals can have an attorney but must either pay for it themselves or find donors to cover expenses.
We are a boutique law firm that provides low-bono work. We represent individuals for low, sliding scale costs. However, we also remain a private practice rather than non-profit because we would prefer to focus on clients rather than fundraising.
If you would like to sponsor a detainee’s claim for asylum, withholding of removal, protection under the Convention Against Torture, and/or humanitarian asylum, donate today.
Your contribution will go towards:
Interpreter and translation services
Expert witnesses
Psychological evaluations to be presented in court
Attorney transportation to immigration detention centers located in legal deserts
Technology necessary to communicate with detainees
Postage costs
Expenses necessary for representing individuals
Are you a non-profit that would like to partner with us somehow? Let’s talk possibilities.
